How to Convert 3D Models into STL Files Using Google SketchUp

Installing the STL Export Plugin

  1. Download the Plugin
  2. Open SketchUp
    • Launch SketchUp on your computer.
  3. Install the Plugin
    • Click Window (on Windows) or SketchUp (on Mac) > Preferences > Extensions.
    • Click Install Extension….
    • Browse to the folder containing the RBZ file, select it, and click Open.
    • A warning message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to install the plugin. Click Yes.

Exporting to STL

    • To export, go to File > Export STL.
